HUD publishes a Small Area Fair Market Rent for each ZIP code in Calvert County. HUD’s FY2027 Fair Market Rent is a federal benchmark used for voucher programs. It is not a prediction of what a specific home will rent for. ZIP 20754 reads:

Do I need a rental license in Dunkirk?

No. The Maryland People’s Law Library lists no rental license for Calvert County. It lists two Calvert towns with their own licenses, Chesapeake Beach and North Beach, and Dunkirk is not a town. The table was last updated September 22, 2026. The library is the state judiciary’s law library, not a county site, so call the county before you list a home. Which buses leave from Dunkirk?

Three Maryland MTA commuter routes list the Dunkirk park and ride on Md 525 near Md 4.

Route 850 is the only one of the three that lists a Suitland Metro station stop. Check the MTA pages for current times.

What is in and around Dunkirk?

Dunkirk District Park, at 10750 Southern Maryland Blvd, covers 81.42 acres in the northernmost part of Calvert County, according to a county grant application.

Using the Census Bureau’s 2024 place points, Dunkirk is about 15 miles in a straight line from Waldorf, where our Charles and PG County office is. It is about 12 miles from the Andrews AFB area. The closest of the six hospitals we checked is MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, 7503 Surratts Rd. in Clinton, about 12 miles in a straight line. CalvertHealth Medical Center in Prince Frederick is about 13 miles. These are straight-line figures, not drive times.

Which utility serves Dunkirk?

SMECO provides electric service to all but the northern tip of Calvert County. Dunkirk is in the northern part of the county. We did not confirm which company serves a given street. Ask the utility with the street address before you tell a tenant how to set up service.

What should an owner check before listing a home in Dunkirk?

1. Confirm the license rule with Calvert County. The state’s table lists none for the county.
2. Look up ZIP 20754, where the two-bedroom benchmark is $2,620.
3. Confirm the electric provider for the street address, because Dunkirk is in the northern part of the county.
4. Note the park and ride on Md 525 and the three MTA routes that list it. State it as a fact about the location.
